    Who is Wayne?

    A Trainer who Started out Just like you

    I was a very thin child. I was bullied often for my race and my small stature. I wanted a change like most of you, so I started to train my mind and my body. My fitness and nutritional journey started when I was 15 years old. I joined the Myers Park wrestling team, committed myself to a workout program and learned how to cook and prepare my meals. As I grew stronger physically and mentally, people stopped bullying me. I was focused. I ignited a drive in me to always strive to be better than my yesterday self. I was in the position you are in now and I know the shortcuts to get to where you want to go.

    My Journey

    I have been on this fitness journey for more than 10 years. Creating programs for myself, keeping the motivation lit, and  learning the in's and out's of cooking and nutrition. I wrestled at Myers Park for Rick Stack, a legendary coach that was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. I currently participate in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing and Wrestling at the House of Eight Limbs, the most dominant Muay Thai and Kickboxing gym in the Carolinas. I still cook to this day. I like to cook for family and friends. As of 2021, I published my first cookbook, Eat to Move, which you can purchase if you scroll to the top and click on the "Eat to Move" button.
     

    Knowledge & Experience

    • I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor's Degree in Fitness Education & Healthful Living. 
    • I was a Strength & Conditioning intern for all of the Division I sports at UNCW. Which includes: Men's/Women's Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Baseball, Softball, Golf, Indoor Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Track & Field, Swim & Dive
    • I was an intern for a prestigious personal training/sports performance facility called Performance Unlimited in Charlotte, NC. Where I coached a wide range of different personal clients ranging from 12-70 years old. On the sports performance side, I trained elite middle school, high school, collegiate and professional athletes (NFL, MLB, MLS).
    • I currently train the Muay Thai fighters, Kickboxers, Boxers and MMA fighters of House of Eight Limbs in Strength & Conditioning, as well as, personal training client. 
    • I am also a Sports Performance Coach at Velocity Sports Performance in Charlotte, where I train athletes of all of sports and all ages ranging from 5th grade to professional level. 
    • I am Certified Personal Trainer under ACE. I am also CPR/First Aid/AED certfied.
